I was bitten by the “Aviation bug” from a young age, and developed a keen interest particularly with Classic and Vintage aviation. I grew up in the small town of Glen Innes, in Northern NSW - we had an airfield, where for some time, we even had a Regular Public Transport service. I loved the spring season each year as that was when the Air Ag aircraft were getting busy, and I loved to hear the old de Havilland Beavers flying around the town.

It wasn't until 1990, when the Glen Innes Aero Club hosted an Airshow, that it all unfolded. Armed with my very first 35mm compact camera, which I paid a princely sum of $6.90 the week prior, I was set. The biggest highlight for me though was meeting a gentleman Mr. Colin Pay, who attended the Airshow with his Supermarine Spitfire MK VIII and also brought along his CAC Mustang. I had the opportunity to have a sit in the cockpit of the Spitfire, and let me tell you, to a very young impressionable lad that was pretty special! This is where the interest in, and love of, the older aircraft all started.
